A marijuana strain tested at the Scottsdale-based Level One Labs has been voluntarily recalled after state health department inspectors said they found evidence the lab misreported failing test results as passing.

The Arizona Department of Health Services announced Wednesday that the Angel City infused flower strain of Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrock Infused Bulk Snowballz, batch number AC120225, was part of the recall. The department said inspectors observed failed testing records for Aspergillus that were reported to marijuana establishments as a passing test.

That matters because Aspergillus is the kind of fungus issue that can raise real concerns for people buying cannabis products, especially when testing is supposed to be the safety net. The health department did not say where customers may have purchased the possibly contaminated weed.

For Valley consumers, the takeaway is simple: if you picked up this product, pay attention to the recall and the batch details. In a market that leans hard on lab testing, this is the kind of problem that shakes confidence fast.
