Today is a big one for PV: Harry & Izzy’s is opening its doors, and according to Mouth by Southwest, this is the Indianapolis steakhouse chain’s first location outside its home state.
The new restaurant sits in a newly built 8,300-square-foot building on the northeast corner of PV’s central park, the green space used for the development’s live music and events, Mouth by Southwest reports. That setting gives the opening a little extra Valley energy. It’s not just another dining room dropping into a shopping center; it’s part of a larger place where people gather, linger, and make a night of it.
And Harry & Izzy’s is clearly built for that kind of crowd. The restaurant includes a 2,400-square-foot patio, an outdoor bar, and room for 340 guests, according to the same report. The menu goes well beyond steaks, with seafood, sandwiches, salads, and pastas in the mix. But if you know the brand’s roots, the marquee starter makes perfect sense: the St. Elmo Steak House Shrimp Cocktail.
That connection matters. Mouth by Southwest notes that Harry & Izzy’s was founded in 2007 by Huse Culinary, the same Indianapolis group behind St. Elmo Steak House, and that the name honors Harry Roth and Izzy Rosen, who ran St. Elmo for nearly four decades. So even though this is a new Valley address, the concept comes with a long family story behind it.
There’s also a familiar face in the ownership picture. Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, who has long been part of the brand’s ownership group, is joining the Paradise Valley restaurant as a partner, according to Mouth by Southwest. That gives the opening a little extra buzz, especially for anyone who likes their restaurant news with a side of sports history.
For now, PV gets the first Harry & Izzy’s beyond Indiana. And if you’re the sort of person who keeps an eye on what lands here first, that’s the kind of opening worth noticing. Mouth by Southwest also reports that Huse Culinary CEO Craig Huse had already been scouting Scottsdale for future concepts when the Phoenix restaurant was first announced, saying the area is complementary to the brand and elevates it in a way smaller Indiana markets wouldn’t. Nothing else has been confirmed, but it does suggest this could be more than a one-off arrival.
