Porta Via is heading to Scottsdale Fashion Square, and the timing is already set: early 2027.
That makes this the first Arizona restaurant for the California bistro, which was founded in Beverly Hills in 1994. For Scottsdale, it’s another sign that the mall’s dining scene keeps evolving, with a new name stepping into a space that’s been on the radar for a while.
The restaurant is expected to bring seasonal California cuisine, weekend brunch, and more to the Valley. That combination fits the kind of crowd Scottsdale Fashion Square tends to draw — people looking for something polished, a little relaxed, and easy to fold into a shopping day or a night out.
Porta Via will take over the West Luxury Wing location that was previously occupied by Zinque, which closed in June after six years in business. That’s the kind of turnover that can feel abrupt in the moment, but it also opens the door for a fresh concept to make its own mark.
Owner and founder Peter Garland reportedly looked at locations around the mall nearly two years ago before landing on this one. He had remembered having coffee at Zinque, which is a small but telling detail: sometimes a place sticks in your head long before the lease is signed.
For now, the big takeaway is simple. Scottsdale is getting its first Porta Via, and early 2027 is when the doors are expected to open. For anyone who likes a new restaurant arrival with a little bit of California polish, this one is worth keeping on the calendar.
