I think this is a good move for Arizona wine. Los Milics Vineyards opening a new tasting room in Scottsdale feels less like a gimmick and more like a proper step up for a winery that already has real momentum.
What I like here is the balance: the brand still points back to Elgin and southern Arizona, but now it has a room in Scottsdale where more people can actually experience it. That matters. Arizona wine keeps fighting for attention, and a polished tasting room in the Valley gives it a cleaner, easier entry point.
The bigger story is that Los Milics isn’t standing still. The winery was born in 2014, and it’s now co-owned by Pavle Milic and Mo Garfinkle. Add in the fact that the wines are already being described as noteworthy and award-winning, and this expansion reads like confidence, not hype.
If you’re the kind of person who likes to see local wine treated like a destination instead of a side note, this is the kind of opening worth paying attention to. Scottsdale gets another reason to linger, and Arizona wine gets another stage.
